Winding down an unfamiliar path
Stepping between a fold
and looking up at sheets of protected sandstone
a portrait of past life
Sifting through senectuous lineage
trying to disentangle the past
An epitaph bearing the pith of mothers and hunters
Spirits of archaic life
Now
exposed and
Vandalized
